Support
Beyond our contacts with doctors and audiologists, there are steadily growing numbers of other professionals who provide specialised advice and help.
The quickest and easiest way to find out what is available is through the hearing charities who make a great deal of information available through their help-lines, publications and websites.
In Contacts we include some of their details.
There is an almost bewildering amount of information available. New medical treatments, revolutionary digital developments in hearing aids, advances in adapting everyday devices such as telephones and television, lip-reading, sign language, legal entitlements – all these and many other areas directly affect those of us with hearing loss. The list is growing all the time.
The easiest way to make sense of it all is through the charity helplines.
Remember, by supporting one or more of the hearing charities, we help to support ourselves.
